Cois Teampaill is a housing estate located in Newcastlewest, Co Limerick, approximately 45km south west of Limerick City. The N21 national route from Limerick to Killarney traverses the town and strategic regional roads extend outwards. In the 2016 census, the population is recorded as 6,619, an increase of 292 people from the previous census.
The development was constructed by Roche Group, a building company that went into receivership. It held 24 constructed units at Cois Teampaill, sold by KPMG and purchased by RGT Living. 17 of the 24 houses purchased were complete externally, were incomplete internally but not habitable.
The remaining 7 houses were occupied by tenants on short-term leases. These tenants were not being managed efficiently and paying less than the market rent. The 8 detached units are sold privately at full market value as these are not suitable for long-term leasing for social housing units.
